• Love The Skin You’re In

This year one of the things that I have focused on improving for my own satisfaction is the health of my skin. Not just the skin routines I recently blogged about, but the skin on my entire body. I make it a point to put on lotion when I get out of the shower each day if I am not running obnoxiously late (still working on that). I make sure to get my daily dose of natural Vitamin D from the sun. I have started wearing sunscreen on my face each day, even if I don’t plan on spending much time outside. I make sure that my scalp is happy…

  • My Morning Skincare Routine

Are you committed to a skincare routine? Have you committed to taking better care of yourself or pampering yourself more in this time of Quarantine Life? This year I have really had to step up my skincare routine, mostly because I was forced to. The main two reasons are: 1) I’ll be 40 next year. They say black doesn’t crack, but it for sure won’t crack on my watch! 2) Earlier this year I began to have breakouts that were worse than I had as a teenager. Not only was I suffering from breakouts, when the acne would heal I was left with dark spots. It was beyond frustrating and…

  • Summer 2020: My 3 Favorite Swimsuits

Welcome to Summer, Ladies and Gentlemen! Even if you have not ventured back into traveling I hope that you have at least been able to enjoy some of the beautiful weather this season. Because I am a runner, I can safely enjoy time outside as I cover the city on foot. I also have the benefit of having a swimming pool with enough space to social distance right outside of my window. Win, win. If you read my latest blog post, 7 Ways to Travel Safe(r) During COVID-19, then you know I recently took a trip to Amelia Island, FL. In fact, it was my first trip since shelter-in-place began…

  • 7 Ways to Travel Safe(r) During COVID-19

Summer 2020. Raise your hand if you had a different vision in your head for not only Summer 2020 but the entire year. I know you can’t see me, but I just raised my hand. By the beginning of March, I had already taken enough flights to secure Silver Medallion status on Delta Airlines, was well on my way to Gold status, and had a low-key goal of hitting Platinum status. I had plans to go to Cartagena, Colombia for my 39th birthday in April, run the Brooklyn Half Marathon in May, zoom to Los Angeles the day after I ran in Brooklyn, drink rosé while dressed in a sparkly…

  • My Wash ‘N Go Hair Routine

If you’ve ever talked hair with me then you know I am a die-hard fan of the wash ‘n go routine for my curls. It is my holy grail, my signature, my staple. What is a wash ‘n go you ask? Technically it means you wash your hair, put your products in it and go about your day. For me it’s easy, it saves my hair from heat damage and I don’t have to manipulate my hair in order to style it. On the days that I wash my hair, I apply a leave-in conditioner, an oil (or a cream with oils in it), and a gel. In that order.…

  • Look Of The Day: Crown Me

If you know me personally, or if you have been following my YouTube and Blog journey you have noticed I have been trying new looks in 2020. I added pops of hair color using temporary hair paint wax and I substituted my signature red lipstick for a hot pink lipstick. Well, I’m not stopping there. Today’s Look Of The Day centers around a bold purple lip, Crown Me, by one of my new fav makeup lines, The Lip Bar! I was introduced to The Lip Bar earlier this year by a Soror and I have loved all of the products I have tried so far. The Lip Bar was launched…

  • My Black Life Matters

I have been contemplating what, if anything, I was going to blog about in regards to the most recent displays of racial injustices occurring in the United States. What do I think about it all? How do I feel about it all? What do I think will come from it? What do I want to come from it? Should I say or write anything at all? Does a topic like this have a place on this particular blog? I considered that as a black woman, specifically a black woman that lives in the South; isn’t it obvious how I feel? Not necessarily. I have struggled to put my feelings into…

  • Cheat Sheet Makeup Routine

As mentioned in my Low Maintenance blog post, here is the YouTube vlog discussing the products I use in my 10-minute makeup routine. Once I get the hang of it, I’ll do an application tutorial video. I found it to be tricky trying to apply my makeup using my iPhone and not a mirror. Like, really tricky. LOL. Be sure to check out and subscribe to my YouTube Channel to stay updated on new videos! How quick and easy is your minimal makeup routine? Sound off in the comments below and let me know! How I got the look: Face: Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer in Walnut Brows: Anastasia Beverly Hills…

  • Silver Lining

“That’s not a gray hair, honey. That’s your silver lining.” ~Pamela Price This blog post really isn’t about my curly top. It’s been a tough year for a lot of us. COVID-19 came in like a wrecking ball. And its still here. I’ll admit that when news of the virus broke, I put it in my mental file cabinet and didn’t think much of it. Then March came and in a matter of weeks I began working from home indefinitely, heard reports of family and friends being effected by the virus and eventually had to cancel every trip that I had planned through July. However, changing my daily routine and…

  • Low Maintenance

I don’t really wear a lot of makeup. I remember in college wanting to have a natural look, so that meant wearing clear lipgloss that had a bonafide shine to it. Listen, Wet n Wild’s clear lipgloss was the bomb! Then for whatever reason, I spent my late 20’s and early 30’s wearing a face powder (that will remain anonymous) that had me slayed, baby! Do you hear me?! I didn’t know how heavy it was, all I knew is that I loved that it helped my skin not look so oily. I remember going into a major beauty store to restock my makeup and a sales associate telling me…
