Type 4a Hair Wash-n-Go: Haircut and Defined Curls Transformation

Hello, Fabulous People!

I know I have been MIA on my blog, but I am alive and well! 🙂 I hope have been keeping up with me on the socials. If not, follow me on YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok to keep in touch.

Since April 2021, I have been growing out my hair from the big chop I did in December 2019. When I got the haircut, I wholeheartedly intended to keep my hair short for a while. Little did I know, the world would shut down a few short months after. I unintentionally grew out my hair during that time.

Wash n go on short Type 4a natural hair

My haircut routine for the last few years has been to get a “curly cut” every few months. With this method, I wash and style my hair as normal and get a dry haircut. This type of haircut on my 4a hair has been great for me because I can immediately see how my hair will look. It has been some years, circa 2016, since I have gotten a trim on wet hair. A YouTube video I recently watched discussed how naturals who solely get curly/dry cuts tend to have unrecognized split ends. I booked an appointment with Staci for a trim and fingerstyle. My ends needed a trim, but I didn’t have excessive split ends, which is great news!

My latest YouTube video shows the process and final results of the haircut on my Type 4a hair. Watch the full video to hear Staci drop gems on how to achieve defined curls on kinky hair using the wash-n-go method.

Let me know your preferred method of keeping curls fabulous! I’d love to hear from you!
