My Morning Skincare Routine
Are you committed to a skincare routine? Have you committed to taking better care of yourself or pampering yourself more in this time of Quarantine Life?
This year I have really had to step up my skincare routine, mostly because I was forced to. The main two reasons are: 1) I’ll be 40 next year. They say black doesn’t crack, but it for sure won’t crack on my watch! 2) Earlier this year I began to have breakouts that were worse than I had as a teenager.
Not only was I suffering from breakouts, when the acne would heal I was left with dark spots. It was beyond frustrating and actually began to make me self conscious. I felt like every time I got one pimple under control I would wake up with five more in the same area. I knew I needed to do something, but with most non-essential doctor’s offices closed my options were limited. So, Donyetta being Donyetta, I took charge and did some research. I didn’t just look for products, I researched the most effective ingredients to clear up my acne. The big two that I constantly saw were Retinol and Salicylic Acid. From there I researched products that both contained either of those ingredients and had great reviews based on effectiveness. I threw out all of my old skincare products, revamped my entire skincare routine and viola; my skin’s glow came back!
Like the average person, I still get an occasional pimple. However, I don’t have a colony of pimples forming at a time. Every time someone tells me that I’m “glowing” I smile because not only am I genuinely happier this year; my skincare routine is fabulously noticeable!
My Morning Skincare Routine vlog on my YouTube Channel discusses the products that I use in my morning regimen as well as the benefit of each one. The great news is that you can get each of these products for under $20!
Next week I will walk you through my Nighttime Skincare Routine, so stay tuned. Also, be sure to check out and subscribe to my YouTube Channel to stay updated on new videos!
